Community: Standing Up Against Hate — Green Bay Passes Unanimous Welcoming Resolution
When members of our community were targeted with racist slurs and hateful language, Rep. Rivera-Wagner didn’t stay silent. He showed up. Amaad stood alongside Green Bay residents, faith leaders, and immigrant neighbors to speak out forcefully against the racism and bigotry that has no place in our city. He used his platform to amplify the voices of those targeted and to make clear that hate is not welcome in the 90th District.
That advocacy helped lead to a landmark moment: the Green Bay Common Council passed a unanimous resolution affirming that Green Bay is a welcoming community for all, regardless of race, faith, background, sexual orientation, gender, or vocation. The resolution was a powerful declaration that our immigrant neighbors and friends belong here, are valued here, and deserve to live free from fear and discrimination.
